About Eberhardt Press

"I didn't construct for myself an ideal; I went for discovery. I'm quite aware that this way of life is dangerous, but the moment of danger is also the moment of hope."
Isabelle Eberhardt, 1877-1904

Eberhardt Press is named in honor of Isabelle Eberhardt, the anarchist writer and adventurer who was swept away by a flash flood in Algeria at age 27. But her writings have lived on long after. Isabelle lived freely and fully and wildly, writing of her experiences in a voice of clarity, depth and beauty. Isabelle is an inspiration for those who desire to embrace life to the fullest, and who refuse to be mired by repressive constraints.

Eberhardt Press, established in 2005, publishes a select number of original titles and a few historical texts every year. Everything published by Eberhardt Press is designed and printed at our shop in Portland, Oregon, harkening back to the days when publishers, composers and printers co-existed as part of the same operation.

Eberhardt Press also provides design and printing services to a range of clients that includes zine publishers, co-ops, musicians, artists, non-profit organizations, activist groups, small businesses, and lots of other people in Portland and around North America.
